The Ohio Casino Control Commission reported $69.8 million in combined sports betting revenue for February, with online operators accounting for all but $372,550 of the total.
In a month where the only football betting was on the Super Bowl, the revenue drop was nearly 30% from January’s $99.6 million. Handle came in at $767.5 million, producing a 9.1% statewide hold.
Total promotional spend among the 13 mobile operators fell to roughly $20 million, down significantly from the nearly $31 million outlay in January. The state collected an estimated $14.6 million in tax receipts based on $72.8 million in taxable revenue.
DraftKings led all operators in handle with $255.3 million, posting a 9.3% hold to claim $23.8 million in revenue. DraftKings gave out $6.9 million in promotional credits.
FanDuel, listed under the Hollywood Mahoning Valley skin, topped all operators in February revenue with $29 million from $234.4 million in handle, good for a 12.4% hold. The report also showed a separate negative $2.9 million February revenue entry for Belterra Park-FanDuel.
Bet365 held down the No. 3 spot in handle with $80.4 million, generating $6.1 million in revenue at a 7.5% hold. Promotional spend was $1.8 million.
Fanatics and BetMGM rounded out the top five. Fanatics pulled in $4.6 million in revenue from $49.8 million handle at a 9.2% hold, while BetMGM managed $3.5 million from $54.6 million in wagers at a 6.5% hold, with $1.7 million in promotional credits.
Beyond the headline
Beyond the top tier, Caesars posted $1.6 million in revenue from $25.1 million handle, and Penn Interactive (TSB) generated $1.5 million from $20.3 million in wagers for its theScore Bet brand. Hard Rock Bet brought in $872,540 from $16.4 million handle. Bally’s Interactive, Prime Sports, RSI OH, and MVGBet all finished well below $500,000 in revenue for the month, while BetJACK added $787,217 off $8.9 million handle.
Retail, meanwhile, basically remained a rounding error in the Ohio market. The state’s brick-and-mortar sportsbooks combined for just $372,550 in revenue on $10.3 million in handle, with several retail locations posting negative results for the month.
