The famed Westgate SuperBook, home of the SuperContest and one of the last remaining independent sportsbooks in Las Vegas, will become operated by Caesars under a plan submitted to the Nevada Gaming Commission for approval.
“The Westgate SuperBook is one of the most recognizable sportsbook destinations in the world, and we are proud to partner with Westgate on the next chapter of its evolution,” Eric Hession, president of Caesars Digital, said in a press release. “By powering the SuperBook with our sportsbook platform, we’re combining a legendary sportsbook environment with a modern betting menu and added convenience that reflects how sports fans want to wager today.”
This means same game parlays, expanded parlay options, and live in‑play wagering will be coming to SuperBook courtesy of Caesars.
“Since opening in 1986, our SuperBook has been a defining part of the Las Vegas sports betting landscape,” said Cami Christensen, president and general manager of Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. “We are incredibly proud of that legacy and thrilled to partner with Caesars Sportsbook to take it to the next level, combining decades of history with innovation, scale, and an even more dynamic guest experience.”
Not loving it
Response to the news was not exactly welcomed by bettors on X.
But the negative sentiment was countered by promises of a better experience.
“You’ve got two giants coming together that’s going to bring the most up-to-date technology to the SuperBook and more betting options than we’ve ever had before,” Jay Kornegay, SuperBook vice president of marketing, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The changeover is expected to be complete in time for the NFL season.
The SuperBook took a shot at expansion post-PASPA, opening online sportsbooks in eight states outside Nevada, before deciding to shutter them all in July 2024.
Caesars also plans to bring self-service kiosks to the SuperBook and throughout the Westgate resort, and guests to the resort will be able to complete their Nevada in-person registration for the Caesars sportsbook app. They will also be able to use the same app — as well as Caesars’ universal digital wallet — wherever Caesars operates across the country.
