Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie took on the federal government to legalize sports betting and, eventually, he won. Now he’s back in the arena as a strategic advisor to the American Gaming Association, a gaming industry trade group from which digital-first, pro-prediction market actors like FanDuel and DraftKings recently splintered off. The coalition that remains vehemently opposes prediction markets and is battling in the court of public opinion as well as actual courts nationwide.
In this episode with host Jeff Edelstein, Christie dives into it all: the possible Supreme Court path ahead for prediction markets, why he thinks college proposition bets need to go, plus some thoughts on epic television series The Sopranos, as well as musings about President Donald Trump.
