The other new customer offer is a bonus of up to $25 based on your first trade. This bonus is only available in the 17 states where DraftKings Predictions offers sports contracts. No promo code is required to unlock this bonus. More on DraftKings Predictions

Information about DraftKings Predictions had been dripping out for several months. The trickle of speculation turned into a stream after DraftKings acquired Railbird, a CFTC-registered designated contract market (DCM). This purchase allows DraftKings to “create its own event contracts and partner with other companies that wish to offer its contracts,” according to our own InGame reporter Daniel O’Boyle. 

DraftKings CEO Jason Robins said in a November 2025 interview with InGame reporter Jeff Edelstein that DraftKings Predictions will mainly focus on “states that don’t have legal sports betting.” This turned out to be true, as just two of the states where sports contracts are available (Rhode Island and Florida) also have legal mobile sports betting. Here are all the states where DraftKings Predictions offers sports contracts.

Robins also said in a letter to investors that he views DraftKings Predictions as an “incremental opportunity” to expand the reach of DraftKings even further. He has certainly achieved that goal. With the launch of DraftKings Predictions, one or more DraftKings products (including retail sportsbook partnerships) are available in 48 states plus Washington, DC. The only two states without DraftKings are Montana and Nevada. 

DraftKings Predictions vs. DraftKings Sportsbook

Prediction markets don’t have a wide selection of wagers (er, markets) to choose from, but they often have better prices than sportsbooks. Because prediction markets bring buyers and sellers together and have less overhead than a sportsbook, we anticipate that DraftKings Predictions will offer better prices than DraftKings Sportsbook a lot of the time. For example, let’s look at a recent NFL game. A few hours before kickoff, DraftKings Predictions had the following prices for the spread and moneyline.

Now compare the above prices to what we found at DraftKings Sportsbook (screenshot below). Sports and markets available on DraftKings Predictions

DraftKings Predictions fees and banking options

Fees are usually where prediction market operators differ from traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks don’t charge any per-bet fees. Since they are the house, sportsbooks make money by charging a vig that is included in the price of the wager. Prediction markets, on the other hand, match buyers and sellers and do not have an interest in the outcome of the contract. Because of this, most of them charge a fee for every contract bought and sold by a trader. 

DraftKings Predictions fees

DraftKings Predictions charges a one-cent fee per contract, per side. That means that if you buy 100 contracts, you would have to pay $1 in fees. If you hold your contracts until they resolve, you don’t have to pay any more fees, but if you sell your contracts before the event is over, which is a common strategy to lock in profits, you would have to pay another $1 in fees. 

Additionally, exchanges that manage the back-end activity related to trades made on DraftKings and other platforms charge their own fees to help cover their costs. CME Group, which has partnered with both DraftKings Predictions and FanDuel Predicts, charges a one-cent fee per trade, which means traders pay 2 percent for the opportunity to buy and sell contracts on DraftKings Predictions. 

DraftKings Predictions banking options

Right now, four deposit options are available at DraftKings Predictions. You can use a debit card (no credit cards), online banking, Apple Pay, or a bank wire to fund your account. The minimum deposit is $5 and all funds deposited on DraftKings Predictions cannot be used on any other DraftKings product.
