🎁 Novig Welcome Bonus & How to Claim
Novig’s welcome offer is no-strings-attached: sign up, and you get 1,000 Novig Coins + 5 Novig Cash instantly. The Coins let you explore the platform without spending, and the Cash gives you a shot at real prizes right away.
If you decide to purchase additional currency, Novig offers 10% off your first purchase, up to $100. Affiliate codes (like INGAME) can unlock this automatically during registration. The minimum purchase is $5.
How to sign up and claim
- Download the Novig app from the App Store or Google Play, or visit the desktop site.
- Create your account with email or Google login.
- Allow location verification. Novig uses geolocation to confirm you’re in an eligible state.
- Receive your bonus automatically. 1,000 Novig Coins + 5 Novig Cash land in your account instantly.
- Complete identity verification (government ID + last four SSN digits) if you plan to redeem Novig Cash for real prizes.
- Start predicting. Choose a sport, pick a market, decide whether to play with Coins or Cash, and go.
✏️ My experience: Account creation took under three minutes. The 1,000 Coins and 5 Cash appeared immediately. Identity verification took about 24 hours to clear, which is standard for sweepstakes platforms. One thing to note: you can start making Coin predictions immediately, but Cash predictions require the ID check to be complete.
What Is Novig?
Novig is a peer-to-peer sports prediction market that removes the “house” from the equation. Instead of betting against a sportsbook that sets odds and profits from the vig, you trade directly against other users on an exchange. The prices are set by the market, not by a risk team trying to protect its margin.
The company was founded in 2021 by Jacob Fortinsky and Kelechi Ukah, and it originally launched as a licensed betting exchange in New Jersey and Colorado. In 2024, Novig pivoted to a sweepstakes model using virtual currencies (Novig Coins and Novig Cash), which allowed it to expand into 40+ states without needing individual state gambling licenses. The model is controversial, and “sweepstakes” sportsbooks and casinos have been banned in almost 10 states, but the pivot is what makes it available right now in states like Texas, California, and Florida, where traditional sportsbooks can’t (yet) operate.
Novig has raised over $105 million in venture capital, including an $75 million Series B in February 2026 led by Pantera Capital that valued the company at $500 million. Other investors include Y Combinator, Forerunner, Lux Capital, and NFL legend Joe Montana. Both Kalshi and Polymarket reportedly explored acquiring Novig in late 2025, though the company isn’t actively for sale.
Novig is betting that the future of sports wagering looks more like a stock exchange than a sportsbook. Whether the CFTC agrees will determine what Novig looks like a year from now.
How Novig Works: The peer-to-peer Exchange Model
If you’ve used a traditional sportsbook, Novig will feel familiar on the surface, though it’s different underneath. You’re still picking sides on games, spreads, and totals. But the mechanics of how your order gets filled are closer to a financial exchange than to DraftKings or FanDuel Sportsbook.
Take Orders vs. Make Orders
When you open a market on Novig, you’ll see prices that other users have posted. Accepting one of those prices is called a Take Order, essentially the equivalent of a market order on a stock exchange. Your trade fills instantly at the posted price.
If you don’t like the available price, you can submit a Make Order, setting your own price and waiting for another user to match it. This is where Novig gets interesting. Say the market has the Yankees moneyline at -140, but you think -120 is fairer. You post -120, and if someone on the other side agrees, the trades fills. If nobody bites, your order sits until it’s matched or you cancel it.
💡 Why this matters: On a traditional sportsbook, you pay a vig of roughly 4.5-5% built into every line. On Novig, the exchange charges zero commission. The catch is that your order needs another human to take the other side, and that doesn’t always happen. Liquidity is Novig’s biggest variable, and we’ll get into the tradeoffs below.
How matching works
Novig reports that more than 90% of trades on the platform are fully peer-to-peer. When liquidity is thin on a particular market, Novig may act as a temporary market maker to fill orders. The company hasn’t published detailed data on how often this happens or what its risk exposure looks like in those situations, which is worth watching as the platform scales.
You can view the order book for any market to see how much liquidity is available at different price levels. I found this transparency refreshing. On a sportsbook you never see the depth behind a line. On Novig, you can gauge whether your order will fill quickly or might sit for a while.
Novig Coins vs. Novig Cash: The Dual-Currency System
This is the part that confuses most new users, so let’s look at how the two currencies work and what each one is actually worth.
🪙 Novig Coins
Novig Coins are the play-money currency. They have zero cash value. You cannot redeem them for anything. They exist so you can use the platform, test strategies, and explore markets without spending a dollar. If your Coin balance drops below a certain threshold, it automatically refills, meaning you can never truly run out.
You can also purchase additional Coin bundles if you want more play-money action. Some purchase bundles include bonus Novig Cash as a promotional addon.
💵 Novig Cash
Novig Cash is the sweepstakes currency with real prize potential. You earn it through the welcome bonus (5 Cash at signup), daily login rewards, referral bonuses, challenges, mail-in offers, and as a bonus included with Coin purchases. Any Novig Cash you win from successful predictions can be redeemed for real money at a 1:1 rate to USD, subject to a 1x playthrough requirement and a minimum redemption of 20 Novig Cash.
The critical distinction: Novig Cash earned through promotions must be played through once before it becomes redeemable. Cash you win from predictions is immediately eligible, provided you’ve met the 20-Cash minimum and completed identity verification.
⚠️ Important: The sweepstakes model means Novig is not exactly a real-money sportsbook. You are not depositing money and placing bets. You are purchasing virtual currency (Coins) and receiving sweepstakes entries (Cash) as a bonus. This legal distinction is what allows Novig to operate in states without sports betting licenses, but it also means the experience is different from using Kalshi or a traditional sportsbook where you trade real dollars.
🏆 Available Sports & Markets
Novig has expanded significantly since its early days of NFL and NBA only. The current lineup covers most major North American leagues plus international soccer and individual sports:
| Sport / League | Moneyline | Spread | Totals | Props | Parlays |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 🏈 NFL | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| 🏀 NBA | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| ⚾ MLB | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| 🏒 NHL | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| 🏈 NCAAF / 🏀 NCAAB | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| 🏀 WNBA | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| 🥊 UFC / MMA | ✅ | – | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| ⛳ PGA Tour / LIV Golf | ✅ | – | – | ✅ | ✅ |
| 🎾 ATP / WTA Tennis | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| ⚽ Soccer (MLS, EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, UCL, UEL) | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
Novig also offers Combos (also known as same-game parlays), live in-game trading, and NFL/golf futures. Entertainment and esports markets have been referenced in press materials but weren’t prominently available when I last checked the app.
The sports-only focus is both a strength and a limitation. If you want to trade on elections, economics, crypto prices, or cultural events, Kalshi and Polymarket cover those categories. Novig is exclusively sports.
Novig vs. Kalshi vs. Polymarket: How They Compare
These three platforms all let you trade on sports outcomes, but they’re built for different kinds of users. Novig is the sharpest option for bettors who care about getting the best price on a game. Kalshi is the most versatile for anyone who wants sports plus politics, economics, and more. Polymarket has the lowest fees among CFTC-regulated platforms but is still in limited beta with a waitlist. Here’s the full breakdown:
| Novig | Kalshi | Polymarket | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Model | Sweepstakes exchange (CFTC pending) | CFTC-regulated DCM | CFTC-regulated DCM (limited U.S. beta) |
| Welcome Bonus | 1,000 Coins + 5 Cash (no deposit) | $10 trading bonus (deposit $1, trade $10) | $20 deposit match (waitlist; code bypasses) |
| Trading Fees | 0% | ~1-7% coefficient (varies by market) | 0.10% taker; 0% maker |
| Currency | Novig Coins / Novig Cash (virtual) | USD | USDC (fiat on-ramp for U.S.) |
| Sports Markets | ✅ Extensive (20+ leagues) | ✅ Growing (major leagues) | ✅ Limited on U.S. platform |
| Non-Sports Markets | ❌ Sports only | ✅ Politics, economics, weather, culture | ✅ Politics, crypto, economics, culture |
| Interest on Balance | No | Yes (~3-4% APY) | No |
| Availability | 42 states + DC | 49 states + DC (Nevada restricted) | All 50 states (waitlist) |
| Age Requirement | 21+ | 18+ | 18+ |
| Live In-Game Trading | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes | ❌ Limited |
Bottom line: If your primary goal is sports trading with the best possible price and zero fees, Novig wins on paper. Pantera’s data claims Novig users get roughly 5% better odds compared to traditional platforms, and 23% of Novig users are profitable versus ~2% at traditional sportsbooks. Those numbers come from an investor presentation, so take them directionally rather than as gospel. The tradeoff is liquidity: on smaller markets, your Make Order might sit unfilled for hours, and the order book can feel thin compared to what you’d find on Kalshi for a comparable event.
📱 App & Desktop Experience
Novig launched as mobile-only, but the platform now has both a native app and a desktop website.
Mobile app
The iOS app holds a 4.8/5 rating with over 2,200 reviews on the App Store. The Android version sits at 3.6/5 with about 600 reviews on Google Play. I’ve used the iOS app for several weeks and found it clean and responsive. Switching between Coins and Cash mode is a single tap, the order book is easy to read, and placing a prediction takes about three taps from opening the app. No lag, no crashes during my testing.
Desktop
The desktop site launched more recently, and it’s a solid addition if you like to analyze markets in more depth or just prefer using a laptop. You get a wider view of the order book, easier position tracking across multiple markets, and a more trading-platform feel that’s harder to achieve on a phone screen. If you’re the kind of person who has multiple browser tabs open watching lines move, the desktop experience is worth trying.
✏️ My take: The mobile app is where most users will spend their time, and it’s well-built. The desktop site is better for anyone who wants to treat Novig like a trading platform rather than a betting app. I found myself switching to desktop for in-depth order book analysis and back to mobile for quick predictions.
💰 Banking, purchases & redemptions
Since Novig operates as a sweepstakes platform, you’re not “depositing” and “withdrawing” in the traditional sportsbook sense. You’re purchasing virtual Coin packages and, separately, redeeming Cash prizes. Here’s what’s available:
Purchase methods (buying Novig Coins)
| Method | Minimum | Processing Time | Fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Credit/Debit Card (Visa, Mastercard) | $20 | Instant | Free |
| Apple Pay | $10 | Instant | Free |
| Google Pay | $20 | Instant | Free |
| Trustly (bank transfer) | $20 | Instant | Free |
| Aeropay | $5 | Instant | Free |
| Stablecoin (crypto) | $20 | Instant | Free |
Redemption methods (cashing out Novig Cash)
Once you accumulate at least 20 Novig Cash from winning predictions (with the 1x playthrough satisfied), you can redeem for real money. The maximum is $5,000 per single redemption and $10,000 per day. Users in Florida and New York have a lower daily cap of $5,000.
| Method | Processing Time | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Trustly | Instant | Free |
| Aeropay | 2-3 business days | Free |
| Push to Card (debit) | 2-3 business days | Free |
| Venmo | Instant | Free |
⚖️ Where Is Novig Legal?
Novig operates under sweepstakes laws rather than state gambling licenses, which gives it a wider geographic footprint than traditional sportsbooks. The platform is currently available in 42 U.S. states plus Washington, D.C.
Novig is not available in the following states:
| Restricted State | Likely Reason |
|---|---|
| Alabama | Restrictive gambling/sweepstakes laws |
| Colorado | Novig previously operated here under a betting exchange license; exited after sweepstakes pivot |
| Idaho | Restrictive gambling/sweepstakes laws |
| Louisiana | Sweepstakes restrictions |
| Michigan | Sweepstakes casino regulations |
| Montana | Restrictive gambling/sweepstakes laws |
| New Jersey | Confirmed prohibited |
| Nevada | Requires state gaming license for any wagering-adjacent activity |
| Tennessee | Sweepstakes restrictions |
⚠️ State list caveat: Some sources also list Arizona, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Washington as restricted. Novig’s own published rules as of early 2026 list only the eight states above, but the company exited New Jersey in August 2025 after the state banned sweepstakes casinos, and Arizona saw enforcement action around the same time. If you’re in a state that’s borderline, verify directly in the app before creating an account. This list can change. We’ll update this page when it does.
If Novig’s CFTC application is approved, the platform would operate as a federally regulated exchange, potentially available in all 50 states, similar to how Kalshi currently operates. More on that below.
Novig’s CFTC Application & What It Means
This is the most important development in Novig’s story right now and deserves attention.
In January 2026, a Novig-affiliated entity called Ludlow Exchange LLC (with co-founders Fortinsky and Ukah listed as directors) filed an application with the CFTC to become a licensed Designated Contract Market (DCM). That’s the same federal designation that Kalshi holds. If approved, Novig would transition from a sweepstakes platform to a real-money, federally regulated prediction market exchange, and expand its footprint into several additional states.
Fortinsky has said publicly that Novig plans to phase out the sweepstakes model entirely once CFTC approval comes through, targeting a transition roughly six months after the application, which would put it somewhere in the second half of 2026. The $75 million Series B was explicitly raised to fund this transition.
What this means for current users:
- If you’re using Novig today under the sweepstakes model, the platform you’re on is essentially an interim product.
- A CFTC-regulated Novig would use real U.S. dollars instead of virtual currencies, eliminate the Coins/Cash complexity, and potentially be available nationwide.
- It would also face some of the same state-level legal challenges that Kalshi is currently fighting in Nevada, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and elsewhere.
The CFTC application is listed as pending. There’s no guaranteed timeline for approval, and Novig hasn’t disclosed what happens to existing Novig Cash balances if and when the switch occurs.
Ongoing Promotions & Rewards
Beyond the welcome bonus, Novig runs several ongoing promotions to keep users engaged:
🎁 Daily Login Bonus: Log in every day and earn escalating Novig Cash rewards. The bonus starts at 1 Cash after 5 consecutive days, climbs to 3 Cash after 15 days, and reaches 6 Cash after 25 days. You have to actually open the app each day to collect.
👥 Referral Bonus: Share your personal referral code with a friend. When they sign up and make a purchase of at least $25, you each get 25 Novig Cash. That’s a meaningful amount given the 1:1 redemption rate.
🏆 Challenges: Novig runs sports-specific challenges with Cash rewards for hitting accuracy milestones. For example, 1 Cash for 5 correct NHL predictions, or 30 Cash for 100 accurate picks across any sport.
📅 Monthly Rewards: Rotating monthly programs that can pay out up to 500 Novig Cash based on trading activity and accuracy.
⚡ Daily Specials: Boosted markets and special trading opportunities tied to marquee events (Thursday Night Football, playoff games, major tournament rounds).
What We Like & What We Don’t
✅ What works
- Make Orders give you control. Setting your own price and waiting for a match is a genuine advantage that no traditional sportsbook offers.
- Available in 42+ states, including Texas, California, and Florida. The sweepstakes model opens doors that licensed sportsbooks can’t walk through.
- No-deposit welcome bonus. You get Coins and Cash without spending anything. Low barrier to try.
- Order book transparency. Seeing the depth of available liquidity at each price level is useful information that sportsbooks never show you.
- They don’t limit winners. Novig’s internal data claims 23% of users are profitable vs. ~2% at traditional sportsbooks. Even discounting the investor-deck spin, the exchange model structurally has no reason to penalize sharp bettors, which is a genuine differentiator.
❌ What doesn’t
- Liquidity is thin on smaller markets. NFL and NBA main lines fill quickly. A Tuesday afternoon WNBA spread? Your Make Order might sit for a long time. This is the fundamental tradeoff of an exchange without a massive user base.
- The sweepstakes model can be confusing. Coins, Cash, playthrough requirements, redemption thresholds. It’s more friction than simply depositing dollars and trading, which is what Kalshi offers. Novig knows this and is trying to move to a CFTC model, but for now, it’s the system you have to work with.
- Sports only. If you want to trade elections, crypto prices, or economic indicators, Novig can’t help you.
- Regulatory uncertainty. The CFTC application is pending, the sweepstakes model faces state-level pressure, and the excluded-states list has shifted multiple times. There’s execution risk here.
- Redemption caps. $5,000 per transaction and $10,000 per day are fine for casual users but could frustrate high-volume traders. Florida and New York users get a lower $5,000 daily cap.

Novig Review FAQ
Can you actually win real money on Novig?
Yes. Novig Cash can be redeemed for real U.S. dollars at a 1:1 rate, subject to a 1x playthrough requirement and a minimum balance of 20 Cash. Novig Coins, however, have zero monetary value and cannot be redeemed.
How is Novig different from Kalshi?
Kalshi is a CFTC-regulated exchange where you trade with real dollars on sports, politics, economics, and more. Novig currently uses a sweepstakes model with virtual currencies and focuses exclusively on sports. Novig charges no fees; Kalshi charges variable fees but pays interest on your balance. If Novig’s CFTC application is approved, the two platforms will/would compete much more directly.
Does Novig require a promo code?
No. The base welcome bonus (1,000 Coins + 5 Cash) is automatic at signup. Some affiliate codes, like INGAME, may unlock a 10% first-purchase discount up to $100.
What happens if Novig gets CFTC approval?
The company has said it plans to phase out the sweepstakes model and transition to real-money trading as a federally regulated exchange. Timing, the impact on existing balances, and the exact transition plan haven’t been detailed publicly.
